From "Promo" from the Latin Promovere and "Filia" traditionally spelled "Philia" (φιλία) from the greek. Where it means "Friendship" "Amity" "Fondness" or "affection for something".
Term coined by the founder and creator of WWW.PROMOFILIA.COM in the early 2000's in México and USA, spreading in certain circles in France, Argentina, Brazil, Italy and the Middle East.
Not to confuse with shopping addiction or shopaholic which refers and limits to a buying disorder.
Promofilia has a broader meaning and use which at the same time is our mission. Means an affection for promoting, for example but not limited, promoting Art, Music, Culture, Knowledge, Talent, Principles, Values, Humanism, just to mention a few.
